Higher Education Commission is an autonomous body responsible for the regulation of higher education in Pakistan. It was incorporated in 1974 as University Grants Commission and reformed into HEC in 2002.
The Higher Education Commission’s main roles involve policy structuring, quality assurance, and making sure the international standards are maintained throughout the degree programs. Foreign funding, scholarships, and other monetary programs are dealt with here also.
