Job Purpose The role holder is responsible for effectively driving sales in Member Countries (or non-Member Countries for certain products) by bringing in new customers and increasing business insured and premium income through implementation of country-specific sales strategy This role will pursue

identified leads, generate business through new customers, ensure the quality of business insured is maintained, assist the customer in familiarization with the new policy and develop strong market intelligence to provide inputs for improvement of existing products the role holder will supervise and coordinate the work

of country sales representatives located in the countries, heshe is responsible for The role holder will maintain relationships with IDB Group and another stakeholder to explore new business opportunities to enhance ICIEC sales Qualification and Experience Bachelors Degree with minimum 5-7 years of

experience in Marketing, Business Administration and or FinancePrior experience in Marketing and Sales, with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Business Development or Customer Relations, preferably in the InsuranceTrade Finance Corporate Banking Industry (A mandatory

requirement with proven track records) Key Responsibilities Business DevelopmentEnsures implementation of the business development plan as per the guidelines defined by the DirectorBusiness sues all leads identified by interacting with potential customers, understanding their requirements, offering

products to address their needs and hence convert them into customers for ICIEC to enhance business insured and premium income for ICIECInitiates meetings to identify opportunities to sell to individual exporters, suppliers, banks, and investors to identify their needs and recommend solutions thus

generating business for ICIECConducts meetings with identified clients on a periodic basis to pursue potential business opportunities to generate sales through new customers and hence increase revenueAdheres to the guidelines to manage the risks prudently by understanding the customers and their

financial dealings betterEnsures achievement of established targets (number of clients, business insured, premium etc) and ensures maintenance of portfolio through balancing sales between short term, medium terms and long term products ensures product and segment profitability, pricing strategy to

recommend changes to the sales plan if needed in coordination with DirectorBusiness DevelopmentEnsures adherence to risk management guidelines in bringing in new business to ensure minimization in the number of claims submitted for ICIECWorks in close coordination with the Account Managers from

Customer Relations in answering potential customer inquiries and attracting underwriting proposals, thus generating business leads through existing customers to enhance ICIEC salesSupports the Marketing and Promotions team to launch media and advertising coupling, and organizing promotional

seminarsWorks in close coordination with country sales representatives and supervises their work in countries located under his responsibility to ensure maximum revenue generated and best quality services offered to Member CountriesDeals with Brokers and other potential distribution channels available

in the market to develop new business for the CorporationMarket IntelligenceDevelops understanding of the target Member Country by staying up to date with economic, political developments and macro-economic trends to provide inputs to key stakeholders such as Underwriters, Credit Information

Manager etc and evaluates the impact of external trends on product salesLiaises with external market research agencies and utilises other sources to collate information about competitor activities to ensure development of competitive sales strategy for enhancing ICIEC salesWorks in close coordination with

Marketing Manager to provide inputs on development of country specific campaigns to ensure improvement in ICIEC brand visibility in the Member CountriesContributes to development of new products and provides inputs on improvement of existing products based on market trends, competitor

offerings and customer feedback from the country of operation to enhance market penetrationCustomer ManagementLiaises with customers after the policy has been issued by ICIEC for a period of one to two years maximum, to assist the customer in familiarizing with various facets of the policy such as

terms, processes etc and then handover policy management to the Account Managers from Customer RelationsUnderstands the guiding principles and rules pertaining to KYC and ensures adherence to the sameMaintains good relations with the existing and new customers to identify new deals and generate

business opportunities for ICIECNegotiates with potential clients, ensures issuance of NBIs, offers, insurance policy, etc in coordination with the Underwriting teamReportingPrepares weekly reports providing details about – number of potential customers approached, status of the negotiation,

business insured, sales progress against established plan etc to DirectorBusiness Development to track progress against established planPrepares monthly reports providing details aboutnew business insured, policy issued, premium and prospective pipeline to DirectorBusiness Development to track
